Cancer can cause a lot of physical suffering and can often be deadly. Many medical professionals work to treat those with cancer, to alleviate the sufferings of those with cancer and to search for a cure for cancer.
A struggle with cancer can be full of mental suffering in addition to the physical suffering, both for those afflicted with cancer and for their loved ones.
We may never fully understand why such sufferings as cancer are permitted by God, but we do know that we can make use of all our sufferings by offering them in union with the sufferings of Jesus.

Dear Lord, we praise and thank You for the many ways You have assisted us through struggles in our lives. We ask You to pour out Your assistance on all people who have cancer.
A cancer diagnosis can be a very difficult event in a person’s life, as they prepare for great suffering and danger to their life. Those who have recently been diagnosed with cancer can turn to You as they struggle to prepare for the difficulties ahead, and You can bring them the help they need.
Please bless and assist all people with cancer, and we especially ask You today to help all those who have recently been diagnosed with cancer!
Help us to rely on You more fully in all of the trials of our lives. Help us to offer all of our suffering in union with Yours.
